MARAEY RIO DE JANEIRO OBTAINS THE CONCESSION OF “SUSPENSÃO DE LIMINAR E SENTENÇA” BY THE STJ

MARAEY Rio de Janeiro project obtains the “Suspensão de Liminar e Sentença” (SLS) Concession by the President of the Supreme Court (STJ) of Brazil, which activates the licensing process.

FLIGHT RESERVES FROM JAPAN AND AUSTRALIA INCREASE BY 250% FROM THE VISA EXEMPTION

The visa exemption raised the ticket booking to Brazil from Japan and Australia by 250%. The Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, presented a project that aims to encourage the development of the sector from public and private investment.

IDB BRASIL CEO PARTICIPATES IN HOLA MIAMI

Emilio Izquierdo Merlo, CEO of IDB Brasil and developer of the MARAEY Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), has participated in HOLA Miami, the largest and most important hotel conference in Latin America, to discuss the opportunities of the tourism sector in Brazil.

Emilio highlighted Brazil´s enormous potential, especially focusing on the Rio de Janeiro resorts, where the MARAEY Rio de Janeiro project is located, in a unique environment and less than an hour away from the Marvelous City main airports.

THE SENATE RELEASES THE GAMBLING LAW SO THAT IT CAN BE VOTED IN SESSION

The Senate releases the PL 186/2014 to be voted in session, a proposal that provides for the legalization of gambling and the reopening of casinos in the country.

The project of Senator Nogueira (PP-PI), authorizes the exploitation of “games of fortune”, online or in person, throughout the national territory. The regulation, once approved and sanctioned by President Jair Bolsonaro, will contemplate the game of the bug; video-bingo and videogame; bingos; casinos in integrated leisure complexes; sports and non-sports bets, and online casinos.

The accreditation for the exploration of the game of bingo and video-bingo will have a term of 20 years, renewable for the same period, and will be the responsibility of the States. The one for the casinos will be valid for 30 years and may be renewed for successive periods.

BRAZIL APPROVES A DECREE TO EXEMPT TOURISTS FROM US, JAPAN, AUSTRALIA AND CANADA FROM VISAS

The Brazilian government approves a decree so citizens from the US, Japan, Australia and Canada do not need visas to travel as tourists to Brazil as long as their stay does not exceed 180 days a year.

American tourists are Brazil´s second largest visitor group every year behind Argentinean.

MARICÁ, FIRST MUNICIPALITY OF THE COUNTRY IN RECEPTION OF ROYALTIES OF OIL & GAS, APPROVES AN ANNUAL BUDGET FOR 2019 OF R$ 2,500 million

The Annual Budgetary Law of Maricá was presented in the House of Councilors, showing that the municipality will have 2,500 million reais for its 2019 expenses, being the first municipality in the country to receive oil and gas royalties.

The budget already begins with a surplus due to the existence of the Sovereign Fund of Maricá, which collects between 1% and 5% of the special participations collections and the value of oil royalties.

THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF IDB BRASIL RECEIVES THE SUSTAINABILITY AWARD

The Executive Director of the company Initiatives and Developments of Brazil (IDB), David Galipienzo, has received the “Leaders for development” Sustainability Award from the Argentine Municipalities Federation (FAM) and the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Associations of Local Governments (FLACMA). The award recognizes Mr Galipienzo´s efforts to promote Sustainability from the business field, applied in the development of the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), owned by the company he represents.

THE FEDERAL SUPREME COURT RATIFIES THE CONSTITUTIONALITY OF THE STATE MANAGEMENT PLAN AND MUNICIPAL MASTER PLAN OF MARICÁ´S APA

The Federal Supreme Court Ministers unanimously ratify the constitutionality of the State Management Plan and Municipal Master Plan of the Maricá´s APA, according to RE 1142895 AGR / RJ.

MARICÁ INAGURATES AIRPORT

In addition to having a new commercial flights terminal, The Municipal Airport of Maricá has been inaugurated after having made improvements in the hangar, on the runway and on the yard.

This plan of the Prefeitura is a great milestone for the development of the city, since the infrastructure has the capacity to receive 500 passengers per day and has a 1,200 meters long track.

THE UFRJ LABORATORY OF APPLIED ECOLOGY MANIFESTS ITS SUPPORT TO THE MARAEY RIO DE JANEIRO PROJECT

The Applied Ecology Laboratory of the Institute of Biology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and IDB Brasil, the company responsible for the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), signed an agreement the past August 28 concurring on a sustainable development in the municipality of Maricá, which will include the creation of a Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN) and an Environmental Reference Center (CRA).

The laboratory, a reference in the area, will support this project with the completion of a scientific study, putting the biologist Dr. Maria Fernanda S. Quintela at the forefront of the project, a professional experienced in the conservation of biodiversity, recovery of degraded areas and environmental planning.

THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DO ESPIRITO SANTO AND THE COMPANY IDB BRASIL, OWNER OF THE MARAEY PROJECT, SIGN A TECHNICAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT

The Federal University do Espirito Santo (UFES) has signed a Technical Cooperation agreement with IDB Brasil, aiming to promote scientific research in relation to coastal and restinga ecosystems, typical of the area included in its Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa).

IDB BRAZIL, OWNER OF THE MARAEY RIO DE JANEIRO PROJECT, HAS SIGNED A TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH FAPUR

IDB Brasil, the company responsible for the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), has signed an agreement with the Foundation for Support of Scientific and Technological Research (FAPUR) of the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). The agreement has been reached to collaborate in the elaboration of a Technical Report on species in the project´s areas of intervention, in order to minimize the risks on these species.

IDB BRASIL SIGNS A TECHNICAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO

The company Initiatives and Developments of Brasil (IDB) has signed a Technical Cooperation agreement with the Nucleus in Ecology and Socio-environmental Development of Macaé (NUPEM) – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), aiming to develop and implement research projects in the coastal ecosystems and natural resources area in the Atlantic Forest biome and its associated ecosystems.

Through the creation of a Private Reserve of Natural Heritage (RPPN) and a Research Center (CRA), IDB attempts to promote scientific research in relation to coastal ecosystems and restinga, typical of the area that includes its Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa).

THE FLUMINENSE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY (UFF) SIGNS A TECHNICAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH IDB BRAZIL

The Fluminense Federal University (UFF) and the Initiatives and Developments of Brazil company (IDB) have signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement to promote scientific research studies on coastal ecosystems and natural resources in the area occupied by Maraey Rio de Janeiro (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa); a development owned by IDB Brasil that includes an Environmental Reference Center (CRA) and a Private Reserve of Natural Heritage (RPPN).

In compliance with its Environmental Policy, IDB intends to collaborate with different Universities, researchers and NGOs to carry out studies pertaining the ecosystems of the project´s area. In aims to minimize the negative impact on these areas, mainly those related to endangered species, the project will promote protection programs that guarantee the preservation of these species.

THE URBANIZATION WORKS OF ZACARIAS START

A technical team will be in Zacarias to start the field work of the urban uprising, the first step for the region´s revitalization made possible by the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa). With this initiative, the Community will obtain benefits such as paving, landscaping, water supply, sanitation, electricity, gas and leisure areas. The inhabitants of the Community will have a fundamental role in the process and will aid the team of architects in the understanding of all the neighborhood characteristics.

This initiative forecasts the commitment of IDB Brasil with Zacarias, and reinforces the company’s intention to carry out a participatory and transparent project.

The project proposes the revitalization of the fauna and flora of Maricá, the rescue of the local fishing culture, and the economic development of the zone through the employment creation the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project poses (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa).

The Governor of Rio de Janeiro declares of Public Utility, by decree No. 45,630 on the 12th of April, all the necessary actions for the implementation and development of the MARAEY Rio de Janeiro Project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), in the municipality of Maricá.

MARICÁ RECEIVES THE CITY OF NATIONAL TOURIST INTEREST TITLE

Bill 905/2015, approved unanimously, declares the municipality of Maricá as a “city of tourist interest”. The city of Maricá had already been recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism for its natural beauty and cultural richness.

MARICÁ’S PREFEITURE AGREES WITH IDB BRASIL TO DEVELOP THE OSCAR NEIMEYER’S OCEANOGRAPHIC IN MARAEY RIO DE JANEIRO

Maricá’s Prefeiture has reached an agreement with IDB Brasil to make a reality one of the latest projects of the architecture genius Oscar Niemeyer: Maricá’s Oceanographic, part of the MARAEY Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa).

The Oceanographic also includes a lookout with a panoramic view of the city, a training center and a public amphitheater for 800 people.

IDB BRASIL RECEIVES THE PRELIMINARY LICENSE GRANT FOR MARAEY RIO DE JANEIRO

The State Environmental Institute (Instituto Estadual do Ambiente or INEA) grants the Environmental License (Preliminary License – LP) to the company IDB Brasil for the implementation of the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), which will house different uses: shopping malls, business center, hotels, Golf Course, International Equestrian Center, residential, services, etc.
