MARICÁ, FIRST MUNICIPALITY OF THE COUNTRY IN RECEPTION OF ROYALTIES OF OIL & GAS, APPROVES AN ANNUAL BUDGET FOR 2019 OF R$ 2,500 million

The Annual Budgetary Law of Maricá was presented in the House of Councilors, showing that the municipality will have 2,500 million reais for its 2019 expenses, being the first municipality in the country to receive oil and gas royalties.

The budget already begins with a surplus due to the existence of the Sovereign Fund of Maricá, which collects between 1% and 5% of the special participations collections and the value of oil royalties.

THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF IDB BRASIL RECEIVES THE SUSTAINABILITY AWARD

The Executive Director of the company Initiatives and Developments of Brazil (IDB), David Galipienzo, has received the “Leaders for development” Sustainability Award from the Argentine Municipalities Federation (FAM) and the Latin American Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Associations of Local Governments (FLACMA). The award recognizes Mr Galipienzo´s efforts to promote Sustainability from the business field, applied in the development of the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), owned by the company he represents.

THE FEDERAL SUPREME COURT RATIFIES THE CONSTITUTIONALITY OF THE STATE MANAGEMENT PLAN AND MUNICIPAL MASTER PLAN OF MARICÁ´S APA

The Federal Supreme Court Ministers unanimously ratify the constitutionality of the State Management Plan and Municipal Master Plan of the Maricá´s APA, according to RE 1142895 AGR / RJ.

MARICÁ INAGURATES AIRPORT

In addition to having a new commercial flights terminal, The Municipal Airport of Maricá has been inaugurated after having made improvements in the hangar, on the runway and on the yard.

This plan of the Prefeitura is a great milestone for the development of the city, since the infrastructure has the capacity to receive 500 passengers per day and has a 1,200 meters long track.

THE UFRJ LABORATORY OF APPLIED ECOLOGY MANIFESTS ITS SUPPORT TO THE MARAEY RIO DE JANEIRO PROJECT

The Applied Ecology Laboratory of the Institute of Biology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and IDB Brasil, the company responsible for the Maraey Rio de Janeiro project (formerly known as Fazenda de São Bento da Lagoa), signed an agreement the past August 28 concurring on a sustainable development in the municipality of Maricá, which will include the creation of a Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN) and an Environmental Reference Center (CRA).

The laboratory, a reference in the area, will support this project with the completion of a scientific study, putting the biologist Dr. Maria Fernanda S. Quintela at the forefront of the project, a professional experienced in the conservation of biodiversity, recovery of degraded areas and environmental planning.
